We are delighted to announce the inaugural Care Merseyside charity ball; The Summer Solstice Fundraiser.
Taking place at Liverpool’s Crowne Plaza Hotel on Saturday 8 June 2019 from 7:00pm – 12:30pm.
This very special charity event will welcome a host of entertainers, comperes, activities and music with a Summer solstice theme.
Care Merseyside helps people in Knowsley with additional activities and groups that enhance their health, well-being, social, economic and environmental circumstances. Those seeking help from Care Merseyside benefit from gaining access to confidential debt advice, The Big Help Food Club, digital inclusion, walking groups, creative writing, nutrition groups and courses including stress management, drumming for confidence and floristry.
Care Merseyside has already partnered with a number of organisations to help the local community with their health and well-being. The Canal and River Trust lead our fortnightly walks along Melling’s canal. The Jamie Carragher Foundation have supported us with a Watch Us Get Fit initiative aimed at getting local people to move more. The Big Help Project gives local people access to high quality fresh food via the Food Club which takes place twice a week at Care Merseyside, costing people just £3.50 per week for £15-£20 worth of food and drink for their families.
Care Merseyside also funds 3 days of Christmas lunches for pensioners working with Merseyside police and LMH. Over 1000 older people come to The Devonshire Hotel every December for three days of Christmas food, music and fun. Many of those in attendance live in sheltered accommodation and have no close family.
We want to continue the work of Care Merseyside and social prescribing in our area. We organise a series of fundraising events each year and the Summer Solstice Ball is the largest event we have organised to date. The Summer Solstice Fundraiser event will help us raise funds to expand our services across Knowsley and Liverpool.
